Regenerating the Ahof farm and its surrounding buildings we are excited to creating a group of houses which combine both being future proof and kind to our planet. These historical group of dwellings have the modernity of being net zero in their impact on the environment. Using energy-efficient technology and renewable energy sources, the same amount of energy is produced on-site as is consumed. Set in a remote part of The Netherlands, the area is known for its traditional farming communities. Working together as a community is priceless to all involved, and key in looking for ways in which we can implement regenerative farming
Connecting people to community, place and nature is at the core of the Ahof design strategy. The team is committed to respecting the historical value of the land and its architecture. The aim is to inspire people to care for the spaces they inhabit by using craftmanship and design. This way the hope is to instill a positive energy and an ongoing commitment towards the buildings into the future.
Julia van Beuningen is the brain behind the interior design of the buildings on the Ahof.
The essence of her design is about creating spaces for people to be joyous and together in, as well as finding calm and focus. To her a home is a timeless expression of the inhabitant personality and their life experiences. It can be a safe haven from which we connect to the outdoors without fitting to one specific style or fashion
The respect Julia has for craftsmanship are a pilar of her designs. She carefully selects the people she works with on their love and expertise as well as their locality.
Julia van Beuningen has previously worked for brands like Plain English Designs and MS-DA architects in London, and is available for consultancy for both private homes and commercial buildings – with hotels and guest houses as her speciality.
